Recently, I decided to reconstruct my residence office because it was in dire need of organization and a face-lift. I know what I want in a work station, I just have never taken the time to sit down and plan it all out.

The first things I knew I needed were a new desk, desk chair, bookcase, and media station. I had a set budget of what I wanted to spend and truly didn’t want to exceed it. I went to Staples and Office Max to see what I could ascertain. All of the furniture totaled up to be more than what I desired to spend.

I ended up searching online to see what I could acquire. I was able to go through a company located in Texas that sold some of the same furnishings in Staples and Office Max for much less. I was delighted to be able to get all of the stuff I needed without even coming close to my budget.

Once I got all the essentials, I wanted to work on the entertainment section of my home office. I savor listening to music and having the television on in the background while I work. I wanted to buy a new sound system and an HDTV if I could afford it.

I headed out the door to Wal-Mart to see what I could find. The first thing I looked into was the stereo. They were expensive so I started looking at the MP3 players. They weren’t so much money and would fit my needs so I purchased one.  Read more...

Charles Spencer King has been a significant figure in the Range Rover legacy since 1925, but sadly after a substantial number of years of being the driving force behind such a monumentous marque, this motoring legend has passed away.

PistonHeads.com has reported that the “father of the Range Rover” died following a cycling accident last weekend. Not only will he be missed by his friends and family, but there will be a hole in history where his 68 years of prolific engineering and new vehicle projects expertise shone.

Spen, as he was better known, was “the driving force behind the original 1970 Range Rover”, whose amazing “balance of capabilities sparked a strong demand for the luxurious yet versatile 4×4″, according to AutoCar.co.uk.

It was King himself that believed that “Land Rover needed something new”, which is why we saw the creation of the Rover P6 Series, which also spawned the 2000, 2200 and 3500 models. Although he is well known for many iconic Land Rovers and Range Rovers, the car which changed the world’s view of the potential of off-road vehicles, according to PistonHeads.com, was the “original Range Rover”.

It was so original that is sparked dozens of imitations across the world and became famous in its own right, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In an interview in Land Rover Owner International magazine, Mr King was asked ‘how he felt about the Range Rover after 40 years as an icon’, to which he replied, “It’s very nice to look back on something that you did a long time ago and know that it’s been successful”.  I’m pretty sure people will look back on Spen’s legacy and say, “it’s been successful”.  Read more...

Sony’s Portable Playstation Player, or PSP, system delivers an amazing array of media to its users, with games, movies, and music available. It is now possible to download free PSP movies directly to your player after paying just a one-time fee. Here is an FAQ.

FAQ #1: Technically speaking, how do PSP movie downloads work?
A: To play a movie on your player, you must first download the movie directly to your computer from a Web site the delivers PSP content and save it on your hard drive. Note that given the large file size of movies and the varying Internet connection speeds from computer to computer, downloading a full, feature length, premium quality movie file can take an hour or more. Once you have downloaded the file, you just need to transfer it to your device and play the movie.

FAQ #2: What are my options for downloading movies to my PSP device?
A: There are two main options for downloading movies. You can either purchase them directly from any of a number of official Sony partner sites, which means you pay as you go: the more you download, the more you pay. Some people are most comfortable using a site run by an official Sony partner since it is owned by the same people that built the PSP devices. A second option is to get unlimited free movie downloads from any of a number of online providers. In this case, you pay a one-time, initial setup fee and then you get unlimited movies. I have been trying to convince my aunty for months to give up the antenna on her house and change over to cable. She is not hurting for money and cable TV would really help her fill up her time while she is at home taking care of her mother.

She does watch TV but she watches the same channel all day long. I keep telling her of all the cool things about HDTVs and how she could easily change out her old antenna and change it with a newer antenna, which would give her higher quality pictures, but she won’t make the change.

I guess people just don’t like change. I know it is not a money thing because she has a lot of it and I even offered to buy her one. Her response was, “I don’t need one of those fancy looking tv’s”. I guess my big push for an HDTV comes from my own experience with them.

We live in a very small municipality in Florida. We don’t have much in the form of amusement so we depend on our tv for our nightly amusement and parties. When I saw the clear pictures at our local Circuit City, I was stunned and instantly hooked.

Then I heard about the antenna you can buy either for the outdoors or indoors. I thought this was great because our cable provider charges an arm and a leg for the new channels. All we needed to do was pay for the antenna one time.  Read more...

She’s hit the top spot in the charts, stormed the fashion world and is now collaborating with Land Rover on a special edition of their new baby Range Rover – is there anything Victoria Beckham can’t do? PistonHeads.com have reported that its time the “Range Rover brand got in touch with its feminine side”, and with a successful fashion business under her designer belt it’s no surprise she was chosen for the job.

The ‘Beckham’s Inc’ special edition Evoque will be sporty, posh, and maybe even a little scary in the wrong hands – the only thing missing is a hint of ginger spice. The collaboration between ‘Beckham Inc’ and Land Rover sparked when the famous marquee heard that David Beckham had a bit of a thing for the Rangie, and so they decided to join forces and create something truly special.

According to the Telegraph website, Victoria Beckham is “very excited” and is looking forward to “everything about the collaboration”, but has admitted she “doesn’t know where to start”. It helps that the 4×4 already has a solid base of a “Freelander platform with 2 and 4 wheel-drive, plus the additional sportier feel, which keeps in line with the Evoque’s urban character”, according to PistonHeads.com.

A smaller, sleeker model called the Range Rover Evoque was also unveiled at the celebrity party co-hosted by Vogue, according to the telegraph website, consisting of 300 guests, which included Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, as well as model Erin O’Connor. We’ve had a glimpse at this baby 4×4, but now we have to wait in eager anticipation until next summer for the final, fashion inspired, Range Rover Evoque – seasoned with a touch of spice.  Read more...
